The summer solstice marks the moment in the year when the sun is at its highest position in the sky for the longest period of time. There are traditions across all cultures - some centuries-old - that have celebrated this seasonal pivot point.
Yoga unites us with the Universal flow and connects us with our own personal rhythms. The discipline of yoga enhances our ability to respond to subtle cues that promote wellness. Peace becomes the natural environment of our relationships and our world.
This is the time to celebrate our ability to grow. As the sun climbs to its highest point and is suspended in the sky for the longest period, it provides us with a vital force that sustains all of life, giving us a focal point and uniting our purpose to achieve our highest ambitions.
After several sun salutations to honour the summer solstice, this workshop will focus on balance through an array of asanas. Whether standing on the feet, hands, head or any other part of the body, balance can be one of the most challenging aspects of practice.
In this workshop, you will learn methods of finding balance in an unstable world. You will find many parallels between the techniques used for physically balancing in our body and finding balance in our life.
Whether you have been playing around Bakasana (Crow Pose) or want to learn how to float into an inversion, there will be something for you! Some inversions will be incorporated in a playful style.
If you can do a full Chaturanga, then you’re ready to join !! Falling is optional ;-)
