Friday from 18h30 to 20h30 - The flow of the pigeon 2-hour vinyasa yoga masterclass with chanting and relaxation
This vinyasa yoga practice will allow you to let go, to let your emotions flow, open your hearts and break free of what keeps you from joy, peace and unconditional love.
The pigeon or the "dove" is the messenger of peace and love. When doves are with us we can feel peace, purity and devotion.
Through the combined flow of movement and breath we will explore together all the variations of the pigeon pose, from the lying pigeon to the sitting, from the standing to the dying, twisting ...and flying ... all the way to the royal pigeon (eka pada raja kapotasana).
These asanas can help to keep you supple and active beyond your age. Opening your hips and your heart can improve your posture and relieve tension in the lower back.
The benefits are not only physical. Many of us hold grief, fears, and control issues in our hips. To feel lighter, release resentments, or unlock stuck thought patterns that cause anxiety, try adding pigeon pose to your practice ! 🙂
The masterclass is the first of three classes led by Anna Paola Baroni in Helsinki, during the week-end of spring equinox 20.-22.3.2020.

Hips opening can feel like a love-hate relationship because many people experience extreme tightness in their hips. So even though you may need to open up, it can be confronting, challenging and at even emotional at times.
Opening the hips is even more important than we may think: the hips are connected to the diaphragm and when they are tense you may feel stressed and anxious. You could feel tears rolling down your face during a deep hip opening class due to the emotions you release when allowing yourself to surrender.
When we open our hips we improve our overall physical and energetic experience of life by enhancing the flow of energy between our heart and lower body. Supple hips can also help ease back pain, make standing more comfortable and can allow walking to be more enjoyable. The practice will end with a deep guided conscious relaxation - Yoga Nidra session - to soothe and pacify the mind.

These are challenging asanas that go right to the heart of the yogi’s intentions – to live a life filled with love. Back-bends create room for fearlessness and that is a challenging quality to practice and embody. But through back-bending we become much more comfortable with moving fearlessly in our lives. This exciting yoga vinyasa workshop will allow us to open our hearts and break free of what keeps us from joy, peace and unconditional love.
